Indianapolis Marathon (Read 771 times)

There is a Colts fan bar in chicago.  WTF???

I ran the Indy half the last couple years, but I'm probably going to skip it. I am a little annoyed that I will be in an enclave of road closures at my place. I might also station up along that downhill within the park and drink beer, so I might be there.

      A beer mile times 13.1?

      So bittersweet,
      This tragedy
      Won't ask for absolution;
      This melody,
      Inside of me,
      Still searches for solution.
      A twist of faith,
      A change of heart
      Cures my infatuation.
      A broken heart,
      Provides the spark
      For my determination.

        It's called "3 & Out".

          A beer mile times 13.1?

Let's call it a case race. I'm not sure those rules exist outside of my old little corner of Hickory, NC, but they'd work as a leveler for me against faster beer mile specialists.

I'm running Tecumseh too. Let's hope it doesn't snow the night before like last year.

Are you running one and racing the other?   FWIW - Racing both is a really bad idea.

So Tecumseh is a trail marathon?  Doesn't look like you run on a paved road much.  Is it possible to get lost?  Looks interesting.

The Indy marathons are 3 weeks apart, that's enough time to recover...I prefer a 2 week taper actually. I ran a hilly 50K about 3 weeks ago as a long training run, so I should be good to go. Bad thing...I got a freaking cold last weekend - has zapped me. But I feels lots better, but I may have to be careful in Indy this Sat. But if anything, I can use it as a long training run...the weather look pretty darn good.

Norm, I can't wait to run Tecumseh again...the right way point to point. That was horrible last year with the snow and mud - narrow single track where passing was almost impossible - and then the runners coming at you and having to dodge out of the way (out of courtesy). But it was a good experience, which I can't wait to run it again, and run very well.

Tecumseh is a fairly hard / hilly trail marathon...I think they said it's a 5th hardest trail marathon in the country - that's why it is a fun one

You running the HUFF 50K again Norm ?...I liked that race, and I'm running it again.

Getting lost ?...there are enough other runners to where I don't see that happening at Tecumseh. But my trail race a few weeks ago, I about went off course numerous times...thankfully others runners kept me going in the right direction - LOL

                      Hot women too........just sayin

I did go off course at Tecumseh the first year I did it, but not far. It would be very hard to get truly lost in that race. It's the only marathon I have done, though I DNF'd it the second time (last year) after 24 or so. I probably won't be at HUFF this year--last year was mainly to atone for my DNF, but if life gets in the way of Tecumseh for some reason, then I'll probably do HUFF. Owen-Putnam is a maybe right now. Oh--Tecumseh will fill within the next 30 days, maybe sooner.

Oh....I better register then, as I normally wait till the last minute - just because of the unknown sometimes racing

Brian only seems to update the entry list monthly, but 3 weeks ago 400 and change of 700 spots were taken. When it starts getting close, they send out emails and fb posts and it goes fast. Usually there are some entries for trade, but that's always a hassle.

Oh, and registering is by paypal--no Activedotcom fees.
