Forums >General Running>2016 Holiday Running Streak
just ran through some of the thickest fog i have ever been in, it was slow going. got home and my shoelaces were frozen! i think they got wet from the fog and then froze since it's only 31 this morning!
Day 31. Merry Christmas Eve everyone! Get those runs in.
"To the top of the porch! To the top of the wall! Now dash away, dash away, dash away all!"
We are the music makers,
And we are the dreamers of dreams,
Wandering by lone sea-breakers,
And sitting by desolate streams;
World-losers and world-forsakers,
On whom the pale moon gleams:
Yet we are the movers and shakers
Of the world for ever, it seems.
It's Tuesday every day
Done! (Run, not the streak.)
Merry Christmas! Did 8 miles predawn on a hotel treadmill before spending the day with my family enjoying my 10 month old grandson's first Christmas. Only one more travel day to make it through while streaking.
Merry Christmas everyone! Or in other words day 32 of the holiday running streak.
"Whether you think you can or think you can't, you are right."
Merry Christmas! Thanks to the streak, I met my annual mileage goal a week early, today!
Merry Christmas! Barely hanging in there but I managed to jog 3 miles this morning.

One day at a time
Tonight, I will get on the treadmill not too long before midnight. I'll run one mile today, then another mile after midnight, because tomorrow we're traveling out of town with my family. We get back late Tuesday, so I'll run as soon as we get home.
She laughs at me......
I didn't complete the streak, but this will be my highest mileage month in over a year. I'm still on pace for my 60 mile goal.
not bad for mile 25
Snowed in in the Colorado Rockies. Roads out of here are closed, but we are warm and have food and electricity. It was snowing hard after Christmas Eve festivities, and I got to bed at 3:00 am. When I woke up, the snowfall from above had stopped, but the air was filled with horizontal snow. Gusts reportedly 60-80 mph. The wind didn't let up all day. I came so close to giving up on my 975 day streak, and family was not encouraging me, but this afternoon I bundled up and went for the minimum. To quote from my log:
Never done a run quite like this. The wind was gusting to ~80mph. Seriously. It was brutal as a headwind, but harder as a crosswind, when staying upright was the challenge. Actually, upright is an inaccurate term, since I probably was at like a 45 degree angle. Also, the wind gusts would blow one leg into the other, trying to trip me. It was awesome. Streak is alive. Merry Christmas!
Wow LL! Well done.
Way to go, streakers! Those were some crazy runs the last two days. Mine have been easy in comparison. (Knocking wood for the rest of the week/year...) --Christine
Happy Boxing Day!
