She laughs at me......
It's cold and lonely in the deep, dark night...
New earworm alert.
Meatloaf is infinitely worse than running around in the freezing cold at night. Jeez FSBD. Thanks a lot for nothing. That's a lie. Thanks a lot for ruining my good head space with that trashy trash terrible garbagey garbage.
As soon as I read your post it got stuck in my head. So I'm glad to take you on the ride.
And honestly I have had the Caillou holiday song stuck in my head for days so this is an improvement.
We are the music makers,
And we are the dreamers of dreams,
Wandering by lone sea-breakers,
And sitting by desolate streams;
World-losers and world-forsakers,
On whom the pale moon gleams:
Yet we are the movers and shakers
Of the world for ever, it seems.
I had High Enough playing in my head most of last week. I think I'll try getting back to that.

I am still in. Never ran more than 3 days in a row before - but thanks to this challenge, I will run Day 15 later tonight. Thanks for motivating me. I may not do a lot of miles but I am on the treadmill everyday - listening to Sirius XM - 70's on 7 - so I have heard this one many times. I am hoping the challenge will help me to drop some pounds!
See how they run...
Since it is Friday and Day 16 and beatlemaniac was the last person to check in I will leave you with this quote of the day.
"When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down “happy”. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life."
Keeping to the streak, I crammed in 1.5 desperate, freezing cold miles in last night after work and before dinner which was followed by daughter #1's holiday concert until about 10.
After doing the streak for a few years I've finally become smart enough to not wait until AFTER the concert to try sneaking it in. That invariably led to me just doing a mile in my work clothes, much to the amusement of my family.
I guess we're committed to the streak at this point Michael (or maybe we should be committed). I'm going to a concert tonight so I got up at 4:30 this morning to do 1.5.
One day at a time
When I visited my parents in October, my dad asked why I hadn't mentioned running lately. When they're here in a couple of weeks, they'll hear lots about my running streak.
I'm committed! late night watching my hometown team on Thursday Night Football so instead of an early morning I crammed two miles after schooling the kids was finished. motivation from this streak is definitely keeping it alive for me today!
430 am is hardcore! Ouch that is early, oldrunner. Good job, Teresa. I know how you feel. The last few times I have visited relatives all they would hear about was my Achilles problems and how I wasn't running all that much.
Today I had a good mile on the downhill of my 5 mile hill run. The rest of it kind of sucked. LOL.
"Shut up Legs!" Jens Voigt
That's awesome, good for you. I headed out the door at 515 this am to get today's miles done so I wouldn't have a lather-rinse-repeat of last night's schedule.
Day 21 for me.
I've learned that daily runs are much easier than me trying and failing to be a distance runner.

Thank you - RIP Johnny

It looks like there is plenty of interest in a holiday running streak thread, so I will get it started. Post if you are interested in joining. The rules are simple, run at least 1 mile a day every single day from American Thanksgiving through and including the First Day of the New Year according to the Gregorian and Julian Calendars. Also, as is tradition, post your mileage goal for December and try to make it your highest mileage of the year. This way if you miss a day then get right back on it and try to hit your mileage goal. I've started my streak, it is the "bread & circuses" streak. 2 miles every day from the election of Donald Trump through and including Super Bowl Sunday. Who else is in?
