OMR: I live stream MPR often, especially on the weekends and I heard that. Creative. We need to fill whatever role we can. You are! Rovatti: you are too.
I got an email from Tracktown that we'll be refunded if the trials are cancelled.

First week at my new altitude and paces will be slower for awhile. Tuesday I got nothing as I had 6 tubes of blood drawn for pre-employment stuff in the morning and I passed out twice. I was nauseous and had a headache the rest of the day. The weekend runs were enjoyed. I felt like I was back in Minnesota. Of course I don't want it to last though.

Just got emails from Eugene on April 28 and quicksilver 100k on May 9. They have been cancelled and/or postponed. Cheers.

Mmmm Bop
Always look on the bright side of life - pollution levels are plummeting and analysts reckon CO2 emissions could fall for the first time since 2008 because of cancelled flights and people starting to work from home. 👍
Well I’m looking at an August marathon now (Thames Meander) which is a flat trail race on the outskirts of London along the Thames which I’ve run 3 times previously (3:07/2:59/3:00). I spoke with the RD and its a trail certified course, so I’ll probably need to contact BAA at some point to check if that’s eligible for BQ as there’s no mention on their website if it needs to be road certified.
JMac - Good luck with your TT half....I hope you’ll be setting up tracking so that I can post live updates.
5k - 17:53 (4/19) 10k - 37:53 (11/18) Half - 1:23:18 (4/19) Full - 2:50:43 (4/19)
Rovatti: Ditto what others have said; I really appreciate and admire what you and all the other doctors/nurses//first responders are doing. I hope you're feeling ok.
Cinnamon: I'll give you a pass for not running after having that much blood taken! I am notorious for passing out after any blood is taken; have been that way since I was a kid; it's not really even a fear of blood or anything; it just happens. What kind of altitude are you at now (maybe you mentioned this already but I have a poor memory ).
Mikkey: A race along the Thames sounds very nice!
My wife is WFH now and my son has "virtual" school starting from today. I work in a lab so WFH is not an option for me...the labs are only 4 people/per so fairly dispersed. Face-to-face meetings are not allowed until at least May; everything needs to be done by skype now.

Second 90+ week and by the end legs were toast. I probably did too much early in the week Mon-Wed and paid the price later.....
I second Rovatti's comment about the appreciating support staff at Hospitals. I work at a Boston hospital and the MDs and RNs are on the front lines but the support staff are vital to the work!!

Fargo Marathon has been postponed until August 29. That can still be hot and humid...good thing I'm not running it (but it might make for a good tune-up 10K or half).
Yeah and that’s why I’ve run it 3 times already - they do the race in March, August and November! I’ve always just turned up on the day because it’s never been a goal race.....but I’ve registered this time because it could suddenly become more popular as it’s low key...it usually averages 400ish for the half and 150 for the full, so hopefully its good to go in August. The RD is a really cool guy, but some might argue that he’s a bit unfulfilled....he’s run 15 Comrades, 25x100 miler races and a load of marathons/trail ultras.....Cal would love him!
The UK has taken a slightly less panic view of coronavirus and having listened to a lot of debates on the subject I can now see why. It’s all about timing and there’s no point in locking down too early and then it all kicks off again when it’s lifted...lower the peak so that the health service isn’t overwhelmed, so let more people get infected before you start shutting down schools/restaurants/bars etc. If it’s going to take 12 months for a vaccine then 80% are likely to get infected anyway.
3 months til Masters
Well...About to do a bunch of reading to get caught up on the thread.
Still been running despite the out look that there will be no races for a long long time. Things are only getting crazier at work. Commutable diseases and the homeless, those food insecure, etc. is eating up my time the last two weeks. (I work for a county gov't). I also have a few shifts coming up in a shelter (church basement with 44 men sharing one bathroom and 2 bedrooms. So with a pregnant wife and 2.5 y.o. little boy, my anxiety is pretty high. 82 and 81 miles and change each week

Dps - I thought you weren’t posting on this thread anymore?I hope you’ve got your big boy pants on now. 👍
Man... I miss old old RWOL so much...
paces PRs - 5K - 5:48 / 10K - 6:05 / HM - 6:14 / FM - 6:26 per mile
I just said i was taking 2 weeks off and i would be back after my 8k on Saturday, which ended up canceled. I just needed to take some time away because work got busy and all the sniping was bumming me out. It was, I did, and now I'm back.
Working 1.5 jobs, having a 2.5 y.o. boy, and a 6 month pregnant wife who is also working full time means I have plenty of "big boy" things going on and the place I came to relax wasn't super relaxing for a bit. So I took a break. Sorry if I hurt your feelings.
RIP Milkman
Was the old RWOL just like this thread was a few pages back where people have petty grievances against one another and have to get the last word in? If so, pass.
5K: 16:37 (11/20) | 10K: 34:49 (10/19) | HM: 1:14:57 (5/22) | FM: 2:36:31 (12/19)
I don’t remember any petty grievances....plenty of lively debates, constructive criticism and banter. At least that’s how I remember it.
Don't forget the barrel of laughs!
Problem Child
As a father who reads to his child this instantly made me think of Dragons Love Tacos because you need a "boat load of tacos" and the units of measurement (barrel/boatload) correlated to me. I'm not about using "three point seven eight litres" to measure quantities. Give me something I can use. "7 gels in the last three miles of a marathon" is a lot easier than "$28 of Maurten caffeinated gel."
carry on with petty differences and training. Work is having a big meeting to go over how we are handling COVID-19. Yeah, you read that correctly. People aren't supposed to be together in groups of 10 or more, and we're choosing to hold a department meeting over sending an email everyone could read at their desk...including from home.
Many of us aren't sure what the hell point you are trying to make and no matter how we guess, it always seems to be something else. Which usually means a person is doing it on purpose.
