I, like several others on RA had the unfortunate experience of running with the gen 3 shuffle.
Seeing as I sweat like Patrick Ewing, it wasn't long before it died on me (thanks to the persistence of DW apple is replacing it).
I was recently given a gen 4 shuffle and was wondering if anyone here has one and/or knows if the "moisture issues" have been rectifyed.
For starters, they've moved the controls off of the headphones and back onto the device . I'd guess this will help.

If the 4th is anything like the 2nd you should be fine. I've had very good luck with the 2nd gen. Shuffle and I sweat like a horse, too. I run the headphones cord inside my shirt, which probably helps prevent sweat from trickling down the entire length of the cord and into the device. I wouldn't even look at the 3rd, since it was obvious that the controls-on-cord design would be nothing but trouble--if not from sweat, then from rain.
Getting the wind knocked out of you is the only way to
remind your lungs how much they like the taste of air.
