    I'll set the over/under at 13.07 miles.

Just keep sprinting past the finish line Flavio style wearing a Superman outfit and I’m sure no-one will bat an eyelid.

    5k - 17:53 (4/19)   10k - 37:53 (11/18)   Half - 1:23:18 (4/19)   Full - 2:50:43 (4/19)

      I'll set the over/under at 13.07 miles.

It isn't even 13 miles. It is 200 meters short. Point to point course too.

EDIT: If you can't figure out the course it starts in Cardrona.

Many of us aren't sure what the hell point you are trying to make and no matter how we guess, it always seems to be something else. Which usually means a person is doing it on purpose.

There's a loop of the park at the end that isn't shown on that map.  I guess they're just showing the route?  But a bit weird to have a map on the website showing 20.9km, almost like the organiser is trolling Mikkey.  Last year it measured 21.0-21.3 on different Strava's.  Could be GPS issues in the valley, could be short (definitely not 200 metres though).

There's even more trolling: he lists the event as a 21K race, not a half marathon. So maybe the guy actually measures it at 21K every year, and then people's GPS's come in around 13.05-13.15. So in that sense - he's good at measuring the race right!

I’ve always wondered what it’s like to run a big downhill course compared to a legit course?

I ran a half marathon tune up race in Hastings last year which was a big up and down course finishing in the same place (legit). At about 6 miles in I felt like just DNF…but continued and once I started hitting the downhill section it was absolute bliss and didn’t actually feel like I was racing as I was putting less effort!

I am so looking forward to CIM.

Looks like the Mean Girls moved on from fashion criticism to their usual schtick while I was out putting in the work.

Was a pretty slow day at 1:15 but had to battle a headwind almost the whole way so that was a new experience. Got the effort about right which was pretty good but the splits definitely suffered with the wind, particularly through the middle, and temps being about 10C warmer than normal for this time of year. I guess I brought the warm and windy down from Auckland with me unfortunately.

My coach had a battle with Oska in the 10km, second in 29:52. Oska home in 29:35. Andy said a significant headwind all the way too. I’m guessing the course record didn’t fall?

You don't run CIM, you just roll down the hill. I would suggest practicing stop, drop, and roll like when you were a kid. It'll matter a lot more than any long runs you do.

No I think Caden was close to a couple minutes off. It was ok at the start but the spots where the valley widens out a little were tough.

He got 1:12 on a hilly course in Dunedin. How downhill would a course need to be to improve your PB that much?
