Are field hockey players allowed to watch ice hockey?

This seems like an excellent day.

Mine involved 10km of hills, watching some of the NHL All Star weekend, taking Miss Almost 3 to practice skiing, chilli for lunch, snowboarding in the sun this afternoon, drinking bourbons in the spa, and something with fries for dinner.

The other great thing about All Star weekend is it means my Detroit Red Wings can’t lose any more games over the next few days (since they are not playing). They are a total dumpster fire this year.

      • Keen OK is definitely the south….We in the Midwest do not claim you.

No, Keen is right, OK is not really in the South.  Keen, what region is Oklahoma part of? Greater Texas? (doubt Oklahomans would appreciate that.)  Not-very-western Southwest? Far-southern Midwest despite what dps says?

          RIP Milkman

DPS - I thought we lost you, glad to see you’re still around.

Piwi - we miss you. The marathon thread, like Mark’s Red Wings, is a complete dumpster fire right now. You should comment in there to lighten the mood.

Mark - glad you’ve had fun here in the better hemisphere. Do you guys have these weird geography debates like us Americans? I guess having such clearly demarcation in your country makes things easier.

James - Awesome week, you’re almost at 50 miles per week. That’s amazing progress.

I doubt the texans would want anything with OK territory, unless they needed more space for cattle.

Dps - It looks like a lot of running.

My week is below. I’ve been slacking on the strength training due to 14 hour bus rides getting in the way or exhaustion.

Next week will be off again as there will be 2 days involved in traveling.

Last time I did that Thursday’s workout I picked up a cold that put me out of commission for 10 days. I was very nervous before doing this one.

But I’ve nailed it and now 4 days later I’m still okay so phew!

Part of it is my laptop is running slow and I have not had time to fix it so it is hard to type long posts or read a ton on my phone and cannot really sit on the forum during work.

As long as I'm logging miles on my site, I'll pop back up.

I'm kidding off course, I know money does not grow on trees, it's just that they're double the price here in Brazil and by extension they seem ridiculously cheap in the US.

If you want to test it say ‘I think the draft deal Vegas got was fair to everyone.’ You might get some funky tasting drinks afterwards, or people will agree.

Many of us aren't sure what the hell point you are trying to make and no matter how we guess, it always seems to be something else. Which usually means a person is doing it on purpose.

Another pretty solid week for me.  I'm at a mileage level I haven't been at before and managed to include some good quality.  I'm slowly building up my Vo2 Max sessions to 24 minutes of work per session.  My tempo runs are miles ahead of where I normally am at this time of year.  My pacing last week for the tempo run was all over the place (3:56/km - 4:11/km) so I'm pleased with the consistent pace this week.

The coming week will be lighter.  My legs are a bit tired today, and I have a 10km race planned for Sunday.  This is not a goal race and only the second 10km I will have raced (previous was over 10 years ago when I had a heavy cold so downgraded from the half-marathon - I finished in 44:44 and in pain.  I also took a wrong turn towards the end which cost about 20 seconds - absolutely no reason to take the turn I did, except a very foggy brain).  The race is in Hagley Park and is 80% on grass which is another unknown.  It is VERY dry here at the moment (as dry as it was when the huge fires of 2017 occurred) so the ground will be hard but still different to the asphalt I usually run on.  I have my target as 42 mins which I set several months ago.  Based on recent training, I think 41 is possible, depending on the impact of the softer surface.

If you looked at my above week, knowing I've built up to that over a few months, what would you predict for a 10km time? (I may regret asking...but at least it won't be as brutal as another thread around here).

                          5km: 18:34 11/23 │ 10km: 39:10 8/23 │ HM: 1:26:48 9/23 │ M: 3:34:49 6/23
