    Mark - I will certainly not look down on you if you count it as a PR. It's a personal thing. Do your thing and be happy.

    I cannot comment on the downhill course cause I've never run one nor will I likely ever run it.

    I actively seek flat, PR-able courses.

    That's why Boston is uninteresting for me.

     

    I think these super difficult courses like NY marathon and for speedy people like Jmac and you who have a surplus of speed

      On a separate note, I was out of the house at 6:30 today and it was already too damn hot for my workout. I guess I'll have to wake up earlier.

      I hope whining about the weather is still allowed in the rules

              Weather complaining is allowed by Flavio at all times, he actually deals with probably the worst conditions of all of us on a regular basis.

               

              Weather complaining by the Kiwis is almost never allowed given how good your weather generally is. In general, you can only complain about hot weather when TDP is 150+, and only about cold weather once the temp drops below -5C. Otherwise, just dress for it. The only exception is maybe pouring rain, wind, and 40 degrees. That is near the top of worst conditions possible.

               

              Speaking of the your leader, I've thought about next year and how we will need to find someone to replace me on the throne. We'll get to that after my marathon.

              Making a comeback

                Minnesota....this is everyday in the state of Minnesota except 2 weeks. 1 in spring 1 in fall.

                            Yeah there's been a bit of banter about that here.  The last PM popped up on one of the bigger US shows too - can't remember whether it was Colbert or something else.  He was good friends with Obama.  The current PM is a bit of a flake but is quite likeable (think of a much less effective version of Justin Trudeau).

                              This Jacinda character seems to be the 2nd most awesome country leader in the world, losing a close contest to the Croatian president, who entertained us all during the world cup by hugging everybody and being an overall cheerful person.

                                I'm sorry Mark, but if I ran a 2 minute PR on that course, that would make me even less likely to claim it than a 20 second PR. It would demonstrate how much easier it is than a normal course. There are a bunch of people over on sub 3 who have run downhill halfs and nobody counts it. It's even worse for mile races: I know darkwave has some absurd time on a downhill mile.

                                Marky Mark - You can call this downhill race a legit PR if it makes you feel good....but it isn’t really a legit PR. 😁
