Except, that I in no way suggested the use of Windows. I would suggest Linux, since it is easier and faster than OS X. The only time I use a Mac is at work and that was because they gave me the computer.
How did Windows get into this discussion?
Here's the thing. I've worked with Linux. What a PITA. Yes, it works, after hours and hours and hours of work. I'm not a techie and don't have the time or inclination to mess with that, especially if all I want to do is get on the web, work with some images (occasional Photoshop), and run a couple of Windows apps. Which is probably true of most consumers, who aren't going to write unix code just to listen to Miley Cyrus.
Anyway, I was hoping this would not turn into a pro/con Apple thread.
