Notes
This was kind of a whirlwind. I got to the race 15 minutes before the start, so I ran to get registered and continued to warm up (totaling a mile or so) right until the start.
The good:
didn't go out too fast
kept focused on forward lean, turnover, and breath rate throughout whole race
used downhills well.
didn't slow down significantly
Things to work on:
getting rhythm sync between strides and breath
more relaxed in lean
heel kickback and knee pullthrough
trusting in my endurance (going faster than may be totally comfortable)
I believe I will have to push through more discomfort than I have been willing to do the past two races. Thankfully, I have over a month in which to get some quality workouts, tailored to Club Nationals on December 14.
