Notes

We rose at 4:15 am stretched, dressed and ate two pop tarts and headed out the door. We walked appx 1 1/2 miles to the start which was a very pleasant way to to warm up and get a handle on the butterflies. There were 16,000 runners and you couldn't move at the starting line. But when the gun went off it didn't take us long to cross the start and start moving which surprised me. The beginning of the course was neat we crossed over three bridges the first to Kentucky then another back into Ohio. After the third which was around the five mile mark we started to climb and continued for the next five miles. We fell in with a pace bunny for a 4:30 marathon and he really helped us get up those hills and start in our pace. We broke away from him at nine miles where he continued on the full course and we hm headed towards the finished. At this point we had a good mile of straight down hill and it felt like we were flying then it flatten out and we had a few more little hills. We reached the finished together and I really felt good. Great race the spectators were fantastic the lined the whole course as well as a number of bands. They couldn't do enough for the runners it sure has been the best time yet.
