Notes

This was a special Birthday Run and an amazing one. I run like light. In terms of effort this was a fast run up on the steep hills (God's Hills). I worked hard but it somehow felt easy. My body was able to push and in a way without planning this to be I found myself doing a tempo pace with joy and without pain. All was easy and flawless. It felt serene and I, for first time in ages, could feel my body taking my soul where I wanted it to be.

I run and run and the 8 miles was almost like 3 or 4 miles.

It all, however, ended in tears. Just 40 yards exactly from reaching home I felt the right side of my right foot giving way and snapping. Immediately I had to stop and crawl home. I could not put any weight on my right foot and became extremely uncomfortable. The rest as they say it is history. I am now with ice, raising foot up, apply compression and running to the first Aid of the Coach and old-fashioned alternative remedies to help the foot. Is it fracture ???? Is it a tendon problem??? Only God knows.

I did love my run. And I know that my running did not cause this. Whether I lost my footing or whether the sloping of the ground and the tendency to run on the right side of the foot to protect the bunion partly have caused some issues too.
