Notes

1st of Sep 2009 I put my first race again. I had applied for this race since January along with 3 others. I had to do at least one of them. It was in the back of my mind for weeks but today it came to me. I felt I had to do it. It almost feels as when one needs water in the desert. I had to do it no matter the whatever risks involved. At the end of the day I have the right to live in the present and The Now and if I cannot do this through running then life is not worth living it. So, Today I wanted to Do this and I did it. The rain was downpour heavily from 1st to 3rd mile to the point that I could not see the runners ahead of me and the paddles and the water on the roads was unbelievable. I run from the inside and I felt light, strong, free and happy again. I had such a difficult day at work today that I had to break free. Running is my divine nectar that gives me a second breath in life. I know I worked my hardest and in a funny way it felt easy. From 3rd mile onwards I overtook several female and male runners. Some of them turned and said well done. It was an amazing feeling knowing that I can run again. I am over the moon with my time as I had not done any preparation whatsoever for speed since 14th March (Dendale Race). I held back in the beginning but worked hard not to lose pace. Overall I went with my body and not the clock although I could hear the buzzing noise of the Garmen at every mile point. I was being rewarded with a nice yellow top on the finish. I did use Stelios's legs for last mile but even more so last 300 on the track. What a sprint and a beautiful strong finish. I cannot believe my body managed this run so well after I could hardly walk around yesterday. CS was with me during the warmup but it just went away during the race. A bonus to treasure.
