Notes

Runs like today's run almost feel as I am the wounded animal that tries to run for it's life OR a bird that the bullet has got it on one of it's wings and lowers to the ground but still manages just to fly above ground. This is how it felt today.

- 8 Celsius freezing on the face and fingertips. Extreme pain on the shins all the way. The roads were bad and would slow down any runner. But it was not the ice/snow or other weather elements that compromised my speed and pace but the pain on my legs, pain in stomach (I needed toilet and could not find any place to stop due to snow and ice + running on main roads) but also my fingertips froze for several miles to end up having to remove a sharp little stone that envaded my trainers on the move. So, I had to take gloves off and with freezing hands that could not feel anything had to undo my lases and remove the painful invader. I had to stop 5 times due to the above but I knew I still had to go on as there was no other option. Franc was running well back and forth and looked strong but he was out of reach and sight at most times. I almost fell out with a lorry driver who was telling me off for running on the snow and generally it turned to be a challenging run indeed.

All in all I have no regrets for attempting this run. I now know I have to push and cannot allow the weeks to go on without putting some extra effort. It is the Boston vision that will now keep me going.

A bath was the most wonderful therapy for the body and soul on arrival back home. The icing conditions will go on for a while by the weather forecast or at least throughout January. I have never experienced - 14 Celcious in my life before and two full weeks of icing and freezing weather temperatures.

However today I certainly made Frankie work his hardest as he did not expect that I had in mind a 16 miler. He ended up doing 20 miles the hard way . After all Lady H had to keep him right. He had a wish for a long run here in Scotland and he Did One!!! We were both beaten up after our runs but enjoyed a nice relaxing time thereafter.
