Notes
This was an amazing run for us both. Franc was running well right from the start. As for me I am in complete disbelief that I have run 12 miles effortlessly at 09:30 pace per mile. The course is not one of the easiest really as it incorporates a few long hills on the way.
Franc run really well. We started together and soon apart and I could see him flying away in the distance. I felt good and I was thinking to myself ........'this is Frankie's run and is pulling me through' but I realised that it was my day too as it was all happening naturally and without struggle. Not for a moment I had any problems minor or major. The body felt good with muscles feeling strong on the flat and on the hills, the breathing was strong and all usual problematic matters did not seem to be apparent in any way. I felt so happy.
Then when Franc left to return home as he was going to perform in a few hours I kept running back home without any worries. It was then that I felt exceptionally good and decided to do more as it felt easy. One does not waste opportunities like this. So, I increased the miles cautiously as I was paying attention to the left foot and could not believe my luck.
I finished strong but I felt that this was just fine and safely within my limits. However, looking now at the pace I could not believe it. In a way this reflects how I felt during the run. The thing is I was not checking much my watch / Garmin apart from happily paying attention to the sound of adding miles.
This was a wonderful Sunday Run and one to remember. It is promising and will take me a long way. It has been a while since I put a quality run like this and a long while since I logged 38 miles in the week. All good but in the end it is the quality that matters, All else is a bonus. Jimmy also got his Sunday Royal Gala Apple and gave me all the xxx in return.
