My First Park Run in my New Decade of the '60s. -:) I made SK proud as he ran with me for last Half Mile. And he did help me to deliver in my own way. My watch started at approx. 1 min delay and so the spits are not corresponding accurately with distance.

It was belting down with heavy cold rain today in Coventry. I had not taken even a light shower proof jacket and so I was soaked to the bone and slightly cold. I just had to keep on the move at All Times (Warm UP & Warm Down). I did better than had expected considering that I have not had any training on distance, speedy workouts or other in a consistent manner for at least a year or two if not more. So, to run an 8:43 pace for the last mile, it was amazing. I thought after the run 'Eleni you've still got it'. Of course, it was all a mental and emotional game rather than physical which proves the point. It always does!!!

I was competitive towards myself rather than others but I did overtake a few runners who overtook me on the way. It is pretty amazing running your own race away from IT ALL! And I did it. Frankie was also impressed with my 8:44 as he had not expected for me to run that pace for the last mile.

It was windy, heavy rain and huge puddles on way. The War Memorial Park is not a flat course either. It has it's Ups & Downs but it is pretty wide to accommodate runners. A turn up of approximately 400 runners & First Lady in my own division. I could not have asked more -:)
