Notes
I put this run under the category of Tempo as I run and maintained fast & hard pace for last 2 miles. I did not plan to do this but it was a 2 faster mile from the heart. So, it was a tempo from the heart.
As Franc said one wonders . . . . . 'how on earth can I consider this pace fast for 2 miles when only just a few years ago I was able to manage a 1/2 marathon at a faster pace'?
It is really amazing how the body run and become with time, training, patience, effort and love for moving on the move against all elements!
All comes & goes and nothing stays still! This is always the case. It is all dynamic in it's own way and it is, in a way, all relevant to the moment and circumstances. One can measure time but not quality. The latter is what I felt yesterday before I even knew the time. This is why I call it a 'tempo from the heart'.
The physical body felt hot and tired to start with after 4 hours drive to Edinburgh and sitting still in an Ice rink for 1 & 1/2 hours frozen. The sun had it's own healing powers and the body melted in the sun allowing all toxins to disappear. It always feels great to have a hard finish and feeling all in one piece. For last 200 yards and 2 / 3 min after my run I had this deep breathing along with the satisfaction of achievement of a tough workout. I did not race but I pushed it.
