Die Hard Run. As I said to Franc ... if it was not for loving running so much today I might have considered to retire. An agonising run due the severity of CS for first 5 miles and also cold weather (body felt freezing again) especially with temperature dropping so suddenly in late afternoon. Running against time also put me under pressure because the light was getting lower and lower and I had the feeling that I was going to be caught by the dark before reaching CD town. Music again kept me going. However, I made the same mistake again not to eat enough prior to my run although I made sure I had water with me, Gel and a power drink before running. But had not had food for most of the day. Also I felt badly dehydrated. I nearly lost 4 pounds in weight and drunk so much after my run. So, a difficult run alltogether. My feet also hurt me ... I have had problems with right foot - little toe which seems to have had a type of friction burn .. and it was very painful. A bad day with lessons to learn again. A very slow run too. I felt I was running forever with the last mile almost being felt as it was the last mile of a Marathon. Even after the Athens Marathon I felt much stronger and in better shape comparing to today's run. What else can I say. Just put it down to experience and go on with running. But I feel I need to take a break tomorrow and pay attention to body till recovery. However, one thing I have to recognise and celebrate today on a positive note is that this is, I think, my first time ever reaching nearly 47 miles in a week. So, practice makes it perfect as they say.
