Notes

'Gone with the Wind' on the Ardrossan Beach of the South West of Scotland. Evgenia had her ice skating camp here for two days and me having fun on the beach.

I, initially, scoped the horizon and looked in front of our hotel on the beach ..........it was beautifully wild, with heavy rain and strong winds. I had a good look of the half moon shaped sandy beach and despite the fact that looked endlessly long I said to myself this is just about a mile long. Well this morning I touched the very end of the half moon wall and run to the other end of lighthouse touching the very end of the it's wall. My Garmin buzzed exactly one mile to the touch. Spot on 1 mile. I felt good that I could guess the distance accurately and the Garmin did not lie. So, I decided to do mile repeats as well as I could as the weather was harsh and my lower back was not at ti's best. The travelling, waking up during the night and carrying stuff did not help. But yet I felt strong enough to run. Running seems to be my medication. I felt I had to move no matter the weather. I gave it all my effort against the strong winds, headwind/tailwind & sidewind (my back did not like that as put of alignment pushing me from the side). I had never experienced the latter before. Side wind is not good for the lower back.

So, back and fourth for 7 miles / 6 full miles and one to finish. I was drawn into deep thoughts for Evgenia her skating and her future with Coventry trying to resolve in my mind what is for the best and by doing so I was battling at the same time against all ocean winds . I gave it all and put all my effort and although knew that I was working hard if felt in a way easy because I was mentally occupied with other matters.

The Coast line and the wilderness around me did something for me today. This was another special run with a meaning in it.
