Notes

I did 7 X 110 hill repeats on a pretty steep hill. Things did not work out with my GPS as I forgot to 0 the laps. However, I worked hard up & down and I am very pleased with the result. 7 were more than enough as my body got tired nearing the 5th one. I pushed it and did O.K.

I timed the last one but even then my Garmin does not show accurately. I must have been too tired to deal with all the Tech. I did 7 X 110 with 110 recovery. Luckily the head on strong wind was during the recovery and not during the tough workout. My quads felt tight and tired as I had to go on climbing the rest of the hill for my way back / Warm Down. It is not a good idea having to warm down on a hill following hill repeats but this was a long steep one (about 1 mile). I felt walking fast at some point and I did so for 20 yards as my legs felt like jelly. But soon started again and pushed it to get going.

The entire course brings back beautiful but also tough running memories. 5 years ago I almost froze half way from home on those hills as I was being caught up in hail stones and sudden weather temperatures.

However, today the sun was shining and with Franc running around about me doing his 14 + miles things were great. Franc also had a great fast long run. My toe did not bother me at all on this run which is a bonus and a blessing. I need more runs like this one, more often.

I am comfortable with the total of 10 miles today but no more as I will have to be sensible and not greedy. My toe joint is getting seriously painful now and I need to take care of it and do what I can and enjoy running in a balanced way with no extreme distance workouts as I will jeopardise my chance of running. Running matters more than achieving long distance fast demanding runs.
