Notes

My first Park Run in ages.

I was truly blessed today. On arrival in Carlisle / England I realised to my disappointment that I had left my trainers at home due to dashing leaving home. I could not believe as this was meant to be our Valentine Run (delayed as it was due to harsh weather conditions last week. So, put head down and there was nothing I can do but to moan and create a self-talk while at Ladies Room and while Frankie started doing his warm up 15 min prior to the start.

As I was moaning making my feelings known in the ladies I happened to note that I had forgotten my trainers. At that point another fellow runner noted that she had plenty of trainers with her as she and her husband was heading to the Highlands on their camper van. I asked what her size was only to hear confirmation that it was really the same as mine / 5.5 U.K.

So, I took place on the start line 7 months later since my last Park Run and felt truly emotional. I loved my run and am delighted that my knees did not bother me at all. The 5 months re-hab has produced results. My cardio was problematic with erratic breathing especially nearing the last mile. However, my first and last mile were the fastest and I am delighted as this course of 5 laps is pretty hilly and sharp in turning corners.

Delighted averaging at 9:57 min mile pace considering that most of my runs or rather jogs over the past 4 / 5 months have been on an average 12 to 13 min pace per mile.

Thank you God for today and always.
