So a week later and here are my thoughts. I ran a pretty good race. The start was a little crowded and took at least 10 km until i had breathing space. Looking back on it, maybe i still ran the first 10 km too fast, 50 mins would have been better. There was quite a few little hills, so legs took a beating and i could fell it near the end. Run felt very good at 25 km and around 28km it started to feel a little harder effort and around 35 km is where i had to keep my chin up and push hard to stay on pace. I ate 2 gutsy energy bars, 1/2 at 7, 1/2 at 15, 1/2 at 28 and 1/2 at 32ish. I think i had enough energy, but maybe if i could squeeze another 1/2 a bar in, next time it would be better. Felt much better fueling strategy than in yyteri. Lets hope for 3:20 in Lanzarote.
