Notes
Destroyed a crazy strong run. Lots and lots and lots of up and down hills. I really focused on something I hears Jim Walmsley talk about in trail running, "if you try to run downhills with me I will break your quads" So I was for the first time trying to focus on running downhills with some sort of aggression like that. First mile was a warmup and Miles 2,3,4,5 was just about holding a steady/strong pace and then the last 2.5-3 miles I let 'er rip. Not quite up to where I'd place my tempo pace but based on what I was experiencing I guess it would infact be close to my body's lactate threshold. It was mostly about my legs feeling like mush and having a hard time driving forward quickly. Lungs were ablaze but that's not a surprise now is it.
I used my new TENS unit I got for my b-day on my calves last night and today they felt great... I don't know if that is necessarily correlative but it isn't a negative sign!
