Notes

10 miles on a 1 mile loop course. 2 miles in each direction and then turn around. Never done that before, but it actually went pretty good. Madi met me 6 miles in with some water and gatorade. Which was much appreciated. The last few miles I had to fight the bugs. Felt pretty solid the whole time. The last 3 miles I wanted to simulate the fatigue of my 10k a little bit so I made sure my form was crisp when tired, and started to work the pace back down a bit. The first 400m of my last mile a threw in a surge (93 sec) that felt pretty smooth, but a little taxing, and then I turned into a moderate headwind to maintain my cadence, my form, and work through feeling tired. After that I was good and stayed consistent around 6:45 pace which felt good.
