Garmin said my overall pace was 10:09. Why was this so slow? Well, I didn't want to push it and threaten next weekend's half marathon performance, so I was OK with "slow"....until I recorded that super slow mile and that just made me mad. So I tried to keep it under 10 from there on out, but it turned out to be so hard!
I guess I'm just tired from the cumulative effect of insufficient sleep for 7 days in a row and XC travel. I did my usual on the trip -- basically eating my way across the country. Bleah! My bones are tired. Muscle-wise, my groin was complaining loudly by mile 16 but that was about it; hamstring & glute feel...dare I say...better than in the recent past.
Saw some cool birds, adorably cute goslings and a whole group of bicyclists dressed in tweeds. Yes, tweeds. (??)
