Notes

Plan/goal today was 4 up, 12mi of alternating (5:40 / 6:20), 2-3 easy, 3 progressing to sub MP, 1 easy to hit 23. Also wanted to experiment with more fueling to see how my stomach does, so took a 100mg caf maurten at ~4, reg maurten at 13, reg gu at 19. Had maybe 6oz of fluid from the one bottle I had out.

Started early since I was gonna be mostly solo today and it was gonna be a bit warm (65-70ish). First 2mi of the workout I was wondering to myself if I was gonna have anything today, got a bit negative. Then the caffeine and downhills hit and splits started clicking off. Felt strong after that. Decided to do one extra fast mile at the end to get 13 straight quick. Last 3mi segment was tough, lost my spring a bit there and couldn't quite get down to where I wanted for the last one. Still one of the best workouts/LRs I've ever had, for sure. Really helped having the extra fuel, I think. Had a bit of a side stitch at the end, maybe from the extra eating. Hip was also a bit more noticeable today than it's been, although I haven't been as good about rehab the past couple weeks. Was really hard at the end but legs felt fine after the run, no soreness, not really feeling fatigued. Getting very confident for Chicago now.
