|Why do I run:
I pretty much run because I can! Since losing the weight and becoming fit, I am constantly looking for ways to challenge myself and running has become a part of that. From completing a Tough Mudder to training for my first marathon, running has become a way for me to prove to myself that I can do anything I put my mind to!
|Why I started running:
Labor Day weekend, 2011, I was with my family at Great Wolf Lodge and after a nap, my little girl wanted to go back to the water park. I found myself trying everything to keep her from going, because I didn't want to put on a bathing suit! I was overweight and unhappy and right then and there, I made a vow to get myself together! My family deserved the best of me, ya know? So, the next day, I started eating right and exercising every day. I started slowly, with just 20 minutes a day, and just worked my way up. Since then, I am down 70 lbs and in the best shape of my life. My husband and I started working out together and one day he recommended we do the Warrior Dash, which turned out to be so much fun. After that, we started entering races of all types...obstacle courses, trail races, road races! It became fun to challenge ourselves and train together, so that's what we continue to do.
