Whew! Well I'm 99% sure I'm not going to BQ at my marathon in 10 days. 2 mile warmup then went out at 7:49 pace to see if I could hold it for 10 miles. I couldn't. Blew up after 8 miles and coasted the last 3 miles back to the house. Nice evening, 70 degrees, 15% humidity, wind SW at 9 mph when I finished. About 75 degrees when I started. Not sure exactly what my problem was, maybe I got dehydrated a little. Didn't drink anything until after I slowed down at mile 10. Felt a little bit like hitting the wall. A little light headed even. Oh well, good to find out now instead of blowing up during the race.
Tempo miles were 7:53, 7:46, 7:57, 7:48, 7:48, 7:47, 7:44 and 7:57 for an average of 7:50.
