Supposed to be an easy run on the treadmill at the house. Been doing some reading on tapering and decided to throw 4 x 400m intervals at 5K race pace in there. Ran the easy part at 6.0 mph (10:00 pace) then bumped it to 8.0 mph (7:28 pace) for the intervals. Did full 400m recoveries at 6.0 mph in between. HR would get up to 157-159 at the end of the fast intervals, but drop all the way down to 136 or less on the recoveries. Treadmill was set on 1% incline and showed 172' of elevation gain. Avg pace 9:32. Seemed like a good workout.
