Felt great overall, though I wish I had done the 2 loops in reverse order -- hills first, harbor second! Realistically, probably did approx. 1 mi extra (on top of the 20 mapped) due to missed turns & doubling back, so pace may have been a bit faster than 10:20's. Had to stop for bathroom @ harbor, and to buy H2O at Loyola's fitness ctr. Very hungry -- gel at mi 5 & 13, plus clif bar as soon as I stopped. Lot of wind, esp along the harbor & during the northbound/uphill portion (100' elevation gain from mi 8-9, 9-11, 11-12 and 12-13!). Gutted out the final uphill portion (12-14), and thought seriously about throwing up returning over I-83 at 19.5, but felt pretty great for the rest. Got a boost from the friendly walkers around Druid Hill Lake, the vista at mi 18 that allowed me to see the full length of my course, and the cigarette-smoking kid at mi 19 who asked if he could run with me.
