6x400 w/ 400RI at 7:30 pace. Started to do repeats at 8:00 pace as usual, but maybe the rest of taper is actually working (even though I don't feel it sleep-wise) b/c my HR wasn't going up -- 145 at 10:00 pace, and 157 at 8:00 pace, after a mile warm-up. Bumped up the pace, and still felt comfortable -- not like I was going all-out. Did last repeat at about 7 min pace, which gave me the higher max HR.
I really needed a good run before Sat's race, and I got it.
