I really don't like the mega races, but it wasn't as bad as I thought. I probably run it again next year. And I want to do better. I am disappointed I didn't improve on my time from last year. It's funny that my time was the exact same on official results page. I could've shaved 20-30 (or more) by starting closer to the start. I was a 1:30 back in the pack compared to last year. No offense, but next year I am not going to try to meetup with anyone before the race.
I woke at 6:20 before the alarm. I left the house just before 7:00. I parked at the Buckhead's lot in Jeff. Next year park at visitor center or McCauley. I wore a long sleeve tech T, long sleeve warm tech, wind breaker, tights, gloves, and hat and was comfortable. The 1.5 mile jog was good. Again, I should have started much closer to the start. I was dodging people the whole way. I haven't looked at my graph, but I'm sure the beginning was very slow and can probably even see a couple time when I had to practically stop because of the runners in front of me.
Overall, I am not pleased with my run. I know I could've run better. With that being said, I have run no tempo runs, speed runs, or been training hard over the past couple months. Oh well, I run for fun and health and always balancing that with my competitiveness.
