Notes

After completing my biggest week in 3 years last week, I decided to go for longest run in almost 4 years. I met Chase at Coe and got in a couple of miles before he got there. We then ran Wash trails to Sac and Fox and ended up turning back for 12 together. I had to stop and stretch my arch around 11 miles but other than that I was actually feeling pretty good. My knee was sore the first two miles without Chase but I stretched it when I met him and it ended up feeling fine the rest of the run. Chase said he would add on a mile barefoot with at the end but didn't really want to do anything else. I would have liked a mile barefoot but I also knew I wanted at least two more miles and didn't want that much barefoot or to have to put my shoes back on. So I just headed out for an add on by myself and he decided to call it a day. I was feeling so good that I decided to extend the run to 17 and aside from some chaffing I still felt really good when I finished. Longest run since 2012, and interestingly enough I have only done 10 total runs of 17+ on Runningahead prior to this run.

I'm not sure if I am feeling better than I have the last couple of years but I just feel like trying to push it a little more and see what happens. Hopefully I can keep it up.

Congrats on a solid effort! It must feel good to be returning to some mileage and long run markers that you haven't hit in a while. I hope you can keep rocking it and stay healthy too!
