Notes
This was a crazy run. I was feeling good so I decided to to a workout on Wash trails. I actually went back and forth due to the connection to Sac and Fox being closed. 3 minutes on, 3 minutes off for 4 reps and then I did a 6 minute piece.
Shortly after finishing the tempo I was running the last mile back to work and went by Wash High School. A student pulled up to a stop sign at an exit to a parking lot in front of me (~50m ahead of me). He stopped to talk to a kid on the other side of the car and was across the sidewalk. I didn't think anything of it and went to run behind his car and at the exact moment I took a step behind the car he started backing up. The immediate thought that ran through my head is that this kid was trying to hit me or at least mess with me, which really upset me. So I swung my hand up to hit the back of the car to tell him to stop and it was a big blazer with a bigger back windshield that than a lot of cars have. I ended up swinging a little higher than expected, my hand hit the glass, and it completely shattered. This led to my hand being arm being pretty cut up and a lot of blood. The kid seemed shocked but I was still kind of upset. A couple ladies saw it happen and went to get the cop at the school. In the end not much really came of it since he didn't actually hit me. His rationale to backing up was that he didn't want to curb check. I really don't know if was just a very unfortunate coincidence but I still just don't understand someone backing up at a stop sign. Either way, I had to pay for a few stitches and he has to pay for a new window. Fortunately, the ladies that witnessed it definitely agreed that I was almost hit so it was nice to have them back me up. I really don't know I broke the window. I swung pretty quick and hard because I was upset but I wouldn't have thought it would be nearly hard enough to break the glass. Just a crazy experience.
