Tri By Knight Run Leg. The run was 3 ~1 mile loops. I felt good considering the harder than expected wind on the bike ride. My turnover felt good to start but after about a quarter mile I started to think about tired legs and how far I still had to go. This is always the hardest part of the race for me. The rest of the first lap was a little rough but I could tell it was a lot better than the pigman last year. On the second lap I had some people to catch which really helped get me rolling again. By the last lap I felt like a normal runner and finished strong. I definitely would have like to be a little faster but it was still a good run to start the year. My goal is to get back to running 16:30 this year while still keeping my biking speed up. Fastest run leg.

The race was fun and winning by 3 minutes over some other triathletes from Cedar Rapids made me feel good about the start to the year. $150 to Scheels is nice too.
