Notes

Since I have the Triathlon US Championships on Saturday and haven't biked in 2 weeks I figured I should get out and push it a little. It takes about 5 miles to get to a spot on the trail that I can really roll so I had about 15 hard miles in this ride. I was consistently hitting 23-28 mph during this time and holding 25 pretty well on the flats. At first I thought the bike ride was going to be terrible but then everything started to feel better. I tried to ride the aero bars for all of the 15 hard miles and felt as comfortable as I have all year in them. This was a good confidence boost for the race this weekend.

Good luck tomorrow! I look forward to your race recap, I was hoping to compete there this year but logistically it was not in the cards. Sounds like a sweet event, and I bet you'll surprise yourself in a good way with your fitness. Here's to a good shoulder and knee for race day! Safe travels to Milwaukee. Norse!

Just out of curiosity, what bike will you race on?

I race on a 2012 Felt B12 with a Zipp 808 front wheel and a Zipp disc wheel on the back. I borrowed a Felt bike my first year in triathlons and then bought this one last year and have really liked it. I was lucky to find the racing wheels on craigslist for a decent price last year too.
