Notes

Solid run on my own. My toe and knee felt pretty good to start so after about 3 miles I decided I was going to try to go for double digits again. I also wore my GPS watch for the first time in a while just to check on my pace. I was consistently around 6:30 for the first 6 miles. From 4-6 my knee and toe both started to bother me quite a bit and I was getting a little frustrated. I'm not sure if that caused me to pick it up or just having the GPS watch on makes me want to run faster, but on the way back I started hitting 6:10 pace for a couple miles and then really got rolling from 8-11. Miles were 5:54, 5:43, 5:34 for that section. I then did an easy cool down mile which felt like a trot but was still under 7. Those 3 miles could probably be considered tempo and I was pushing it a little the last mile, but 5:50 was feeling pretty comfortable.

The strange thing is that my toe and knee basically stopped hurting on the way back. I had almost no pain and was feeling fast. Then as soon as I slowed for the last mile both started to get sore again, especially my toe. Still it was a really good run and my longest this year.

Nice work Drew!

Still sounds like your fitness is doing just fine. 5:50's comfortably. Impressive!
