Notes

Run on my own at lunch. I was debating between tempo and hills and decided I just want to get back to doing hillier routes instead of always running the flat bike path. Ran from work out 42nd and then did the hilly area around Old Orchard Rd. This wasn't necessarily a workout but 2 very large hills did put me into some hurt in the middle of the run. Started the hilly section around 5 miles and got back to the bike path around 9.5. Even the first part of the run had more rolling ups and downs than normal so this run definitely felt harder than most runs I have done in a while. The wind was also stronger than I had anticipated so that took a toll as well. Went up Adirondack around 6.5 that put a crazy amount of burn into my legs. Then did 1 more big hill about a mile later.

I made another decision around 4.5 miles to start running on grass near the sidewalk more. I used to always run on the grass when possible and now I never do that anymore. I'm sure it will slow me down but I think it will also help with cross country and general fitness. I was pretty surprised I still ended up under 7 minute pace considering I didn't feel very good the first few miles and the hills felt like they were slowing me down to a crawl.
