I started off in fourth place. By mile 1, I was in third, and by mile 1.5 I was in second. The guy in first was running about a 6:20 pace, so I never caught him. He didn't open up the gap any more in the third mile (because I ran a 6:20 pace then), but I wasn't willing to even attempt to catch him. I was happy holding second overall, and my lead kept growing over the third place guy, so it was hard to get motivated to push it.
Dad and Aaron kept driving ahead of me in the truck taking pictures, so they got some at 1, 2.2, and 3.1. Then we hopped in the truck and drove back to Amy, and I ran in with her.
