This was my first outdoor barefoot run. I did it mostly on the soccer fields behind the Y. A loop of all the fields is about 1/3rd of a mile. On every other lap I ran on the asphalt trail a little to get used to that. The old asphalt was rough in places, but the new asphalt felt ok. The grass felt wonderful.
I took it very easy at first to really get the feel of my form. Then I ran the last mile at a 7:40 pace. I finished relaxed and refreshed.
