Alright so after some reflection, I've decided that I'm content with how I performed. I didn't PR in the 5k, but I wasn't really looking to PR so no complaints there. I got 15th, so that is technically all-conference. I only lost to Jared from Stagg, which was expected. I out-kicked a guy in the final 150m who was hot on my ass and passed two others. I attacked the hills and ran hard throughout the race. I feel like I definitely had more in me, but during the race, I felt like I was giving it my all. So it wasn't anything special, and it wasn't anything bad.
I felt very conservative during the first mile, which I think cost me in the long run. If I had attacked harder out the gate, I think I would've been able to tail guys because I didn't really do a lot of passing. I only got passed once and passed maybe 4-9 guys throughout the race, I wasn't really counting. The second and third miles were just making sure I wasn't falling asleep and attacking hills. I think I did a pretty good job of it. Looking forward to a big race at Lyons in a week.
