Notes

My plan was to run 3x4 miles at 5:30-5:35 with 1/2 mile recovery in 3:10 but TCAP testing went a little long, so I had to change things up. I decided to do another uphill progression, but start running hard a little earlier than last time but not dig as deep in the well towards the end. I guess my plan was to run around the same style as last week's progression, except this one is over hills instead of being flat.

I felt rusty from the get-go and never felt like I was comfortable and in the groove. Maybe I just have tired legs from the weekend running...who knows? I did run this a little bit faster than two weeks ago, so I guess that's a good sign. The steep climb in the 8th mile killed me again, and I was running close to 8:30 pace during a good bit of the hill. I was pretty tired at the end, but maybe that was just because of the heat. I tried to not push it past A.T. pace and felt ok on the flats.

I was also looking at my log and realized that I'm not very well prepared for the marathon this go-around. I just didn't have time to get in what I needed to run, but I knew that was going to be reality and I'm not putting a huge emphasis on CMM because my main goal is to be the first Davidson County runner, which will probably just take sub 2:40.
