Notes

Weather was upper 30s at the start and calm. As the run went on, the wind picked up and after I finished my cooldown, it said it was 16mph, even though it didn't feel all that bad. Connor came down for this session and instead of running the straight 5k, he would run the last mile in the 4:55 range, with one less 5k than me.

1st=felt really smooth and relaxed. It was hard to let Connor go but I figured it was good mental training if someone in Houston makes a hard move that I shouldn't follow.

2nd=felt good again. Like the first one, I had to make sure I didn't go too fast because we were creeping around 5:00ish pace sometimes.

3rd=Connor stopped at two miles, so it was tough running solo. Hip flexors started getting a little bit tired.

4th=I could tell the wind was picking up here because I was running the same effort and at one point late in the first mile, I was at 5:10 pace and the flags at the quarry were flapping pretty hard. It got a little tough to focus the last mile because my hips were still pretty tired and I was trying to sandbag for the 1k.

1k=Pretty tough. After about 300m, I always stayed around 4:37ish pace Pushed the last 200m pretty hard without sprinting. Pretty tired at the end.

Last extensive session in the books. With only 5 hours of sleep last night, hopefully I get a well deserved nap. Also happy the rain held out (72% chance)
