Was shooting for a mile warm-up and then three miles each at 5:57, 5:40, 5:23 with a gel at a little over 3 and a little under 7 miles. Ended up running 17:37 (5:54, 5:54, 5:49) 17:04 (5:38, 5:41, 5:45) and 6:39 (5:24, 1:25) I felt a medium headwind on the way down and was looking forward to a tailwind on the way back but that wasn't the case at all. I was hurting some on the 5:40s and could feel the wind pushing against me. When I ran the 5:24, I was fighting the wind the whole time, and even though I was running incredibly hard the first quarter of the next mile, I only split 85, so I called it a day. My legs were getting tired and heavy and after checking the weather, the winds were listed at 15-25mph. Right before I bagged it in, I felt like I was running at a 45 degree angle. This was my last pretty tough workout until the race, so I'm frustrated I had to bag it in.

I tried out some vanilla Hammer-Gel and it tasted like paste. I felt like I was going to throw up if I took another one, so I just took one and will move back to Gu. Had some trouble sleeping last night and several teachers were out sick, so I'm trying to hang on.
