Notes

There are forests outside Middle Tennessee where flying monkeys have been reportedly sighted. This should not be surprising, given monkeys' preference for wooded and dramatically hilly terrain. Throughout the US Southeast, there are sanctuaries with this terrain, many tucked away inside the bounds of medium and large cities. For example, north of Nashville, the city of Louisville, Kentucky, retains several such urban parks. It is not known whether monkeys migrate (or tour?) among the different urban parks, but small gathers of monkeys are often seen in the hilliest of the Louisville parks in late November most years. Those who have witnessed these itinerant monkeys have noted that they seem to move more slowly than usual, as if they were tired from some recent lengthy excursion. They are said to appear almost to be stiff and limping. Given the normally feisty and resilient nature flying monkeys typically demonstrate, whatever it is that slows those who fine themselves among the hills in Louisville in late November must be significant.
