Pacing a friend to 23:59. Then before the race she foolishly tells me that her PR is 23:49. Then even more foolishly she tells me that she does not like 5k races because she always gets bored in the third mile. We can have none of that. Any of that. PR for her, baby! And that last mile was not so boring today. Felt great running faster too. Champagne supernova in the sky.
