My legs normally stop bothering me after warm up, but this time my right leg was bothering me during the run so I decided to play it safe and go home to take an ice bath.
I think it would be a good idea for you to start taking ice baths right after all of your hard workouts (including long runs) as a preventive measure. Hopefully, doing so will prevent you feeling like this the day after.
