About me: I'm a wife and mother, a health care professional, a lover of books, food, writing, and of course, running. |
Why do I run: Running is my stillness. It's the only time I get to be just ME. Everyone needs that. |
Why I started running: Years ago, I started because I was bored with the routine of going to the gym. I wanted to try something new. I ran for about 2 years, and had two half marathons under my belt.
Enter infertility, a long-awaited and very difficult pregnancy, a sick newborn, postpartum depression, and a lengthy string of miscarriages... the next thing you know, five years had passed without a single run.
I started to run again after my husband and I gave up the fight to have another child. I did it to give myself something to focus on other than the emotional pain. And because I was eager to recapture some of who I used to be! |
