official time was 57:15.5. !st mile GPS about 5 seconds off because signal blocked turning South to cross bridge off Grand Ave. Course was more difficult than anticipated. Miles 3 and 4 near the Planetarium and Soldier Field were rolling with several inclines. Climbs weren't steep, but were long and made it difficult to get pace below 9/mile despite increased effort. Really had no legs left at beginning of mile 5 so I walked the aid station. After that I was able to maintain about 9:15-9:16 pace the rest of the way. Effect of "hills" in miles 3 & 4 probably were increased by very early wake up to get to Navy Pier, a half hour delay in the race's start & the head cold I'd been fighting all week.
Result wasn't terrible, but not great either.
