Ran 3 miles on the trail with Copper. Splits were 11:59, 11:41, and 11:03. Still had trouble getting Copper started and there was tension on the leash for the better part of the first mile. True to form on the return trip Copper was at my knee or a bit ahead when something caught his interest like a turkey or robin. I didn't try bringing treats yet, mostly because I didn't want to have to carry another bag but I think also because I'm just not getting over the fact that he's not obeying and I'm taking it way to personal. On the brighter side, I'm pretty sure 11:03 is my fasted mile split so far. :) Dang I ran a 10:53 split a week or so ago.
